About this site
About Metals Bench
An independent reference for people who buy, hold or analyse rare earths and technology metals. Every price is dated, every figure is sourced, and every page says what the number is.
Last reviewed 28 October 2026
What we publish
Reference prices in US dollars per kilogram for 12 metals (four rare earths and eight technology metals), with year-to-date and since-2020 change. Around each price we add the context a market participant needs: production by country, import reliance, annual benchmark prices from the U.S. Geological Survey, and a dated timeline of China's export controls.
What we do not publish
- Price forecasts or targets. Pages list dated events to watch instead.
- Figures we cannot source. Where USGS or a government source does not publish a number, the page says so.
- Recommendations to buy or sell a metal or a stock.
Where the prices come from
The reference prices are private-investor prices for physical metal from our metals supplier, reviewed weekly. They are not a market benchmark. Price sources and update schedule explains the series, and methodology explains how every page is built.
