How to read this list

Rare earth equities fall into four groups: miners with concentrate, separators that make oxide, magnet makers, and development projects that have not yet produced. Role matters more than market value for judging exposure.

Concentration is high. China mined about 69% of rare earths, and few companies outside China separate heavy rare earths. See the reserves page for production by country.

Rare earth stocks: frequently asked questions

Which rare earth stocks are listed in the United States?

MP Materials (NYSE: MP), USA Rare Earth (Nasdaq: USAR), Energy Fuels (NYSE American: UUUU), NioCorp (Nasdaq: NB), Critical Metals (Nasdaq: CRML) and Ramaco (Nasdaq: METC) are on this list.

Which rare earth companies produce heavy rare earths?

Few do. Lynas separates heavy rare earths in Malaysia; most other companies on this list hold development projects. Heavy rare earths such as dysprosium and terbium are under Chinese export licence.

Are rare earth stocks tied to rare earth prices?

Partly. Project news, financing, government support and Chinese policy move shares as much as metal prices do. Most rare earth oxide prices are assessed over the counter, not on an exchange.

Does this page recommend any stock?

No. It lists companies by role and asset and carries no price targets or ratings.
